Photography has always been one of my passion since high school and because of that I immediately look for a photography club when I arrived at UC. The most surprising thing is that UC does not have one even though we have one of the best design school in the nation. I felt really disappointed and was about to stop thinking about it but then an idea just come up in my head. Why don't we just make our own club so that everyone can be benefited? With this idea in mind and the support from my wonderful friends who also passionate about photography, I founded our first photography club on campus. The process to bring the club up and running is a long story with a lot of difficulties. We have spent almost 2 semester just to form ideas of how the club will be running and what to expect when it's founded. To be honest, this is the first time I have ever been in such an important position in an organization and I learned so much from it. I have learned how to overcome disappointment and how to bring people together to do something that we all love. I think this experience of my will be very interesting to read and it would help you understand a little bit more about the process of founding a club on campus. I always hope to see a lot more organization on campus !
The club has been running for 3 semester and I am really glad that it is still doing well. We had a lot of difficulty along the way, especially during the 3rd semester when most of our board members have to be on co-op. We managed to survive and right now we are having a stronger team of board members that can dedicate their time on the club to make it better. Our plan for the 4th semester would be keeping the board members connected and get more people to come to our activities. The club is stable now and the goal is to keep it running with efficiency. We will be more active on campus this semester and we will not just focus on activities around the city.
here is my reflection on this experience
